The mission of the LSX Private CEO Forum is to provide a unique, powerful and valuable space for the candid sharing of experience between the sector's senior executives leading private life science companies who are advanced of a Series A round, so that they can leave with new ideas that will drive their businesses and the sector forward.

It is an exclusive roundtable forum where all participants are active discussants and have an equal voice. Targeting just 20-25 leading CxOs, to ensure conversation is meaningful, it follows a strict Chatham House Rule policy and includes case study peer review and a general discussion focused on brainstorming solutions to the collective challenges of CXOs in the sector.

Taking place in a closed-door session at the LSX World Congress, the forum features:

  • A State of the Market presentation with views on investment trends and deal making
  • 2x interactive peer review case studies of recent transactions or deals, presented by CEOs and moderated by experts in their fields
  • A 45-minute focused roundtable discussion on funding, financing and strategic challenges in the region that will have actionable outcomes as its goal.
Given the scope and focus on the forum, the Private CEO Forum is only open to post-series A private life science company executives.
The Private CEO Forum can be added as a free-to-attend agenda item during the online registration process. Limited places available.

The Formats

The Case Studies

CEOs and/or event partners put forward "cases" - either success stories or current challenges - focusing on either a fundraising, financing, M&A, licensing or other corporate transaction and use the group as "consultants" with this format:

  • The Headline - short and enticing.
  • The Nutshell - a concise statement of the issue.
  • The Background - the players, what was at stake, etc.
  • What was tried? What worked and what didn't.
  • Clarifying questions from the group
  • Peer Consultation

The General Discussion

All the attendees in the room will be asked:

"If you could have the answer to one question that would help change the fundamental way your business runs, what would it be?"

The questions will be scored- the highest score going to the question asked by the most people, and that becoming the focus of the discussion.

Some notes:

  • Time will be managed carefully, with plenty of time for discussion
  • Each speaker is asked to communicate a clear message and solicit specific feedback
  • The moderator will be briefed to guide the discussion to touch on all participants concerns
